No fireworks today is good

I finally found some time to mount the new switching voltage regulators today. No sparks or fireworks means I must have done it right. You can see them in the picture below. Look for the small circuit boards with the large capacitors on them. These are easy to work with, and a very nice find.

The one on the bottom left is set to 5 volts and powers the avionics bay. This allows power to be provided directly to the avionics, so if something were to go wrong with the payload computer we can still fly home.
The one on the top right is set to 6 volts and provides power to the USRP.

I also relocated the 4g dongle (white USB), as the amount of metal in the payload bay (heatsink, circuits boards, etc) was severely limiting the connection quality.

Happy 4th of July everyone.
